Internships & School Leavers

Summer Placement Programmes

We offer summer internships to students interested in our Graduate Programme. While not required, we highly recommend applying for an internship the year before. It gives you a taste of the work, environment, and people you’ll encounter during the programme.

Our internships typically last 2-4 weeks between June and September in our Glasgow office. They are paid, and you’ll receive an induction, IT training, and a buddy to assist you throughout the internship.

We accept internship applications throughout the year and would be delighted to hear from interested candidates. At the end of the internship, we’ll discuss your experience and provide feedback, including the possibility of a training contract for the following year’s Graduate Programme.

To apply, please email your CV and cover letter to recruitment@maco.co.uk.

We are dedicated to fair and equal treatment of all employees and job applicants throughout their employment journey. This includes recruitment, training, transfers, and promotions, based solely on merit, skills, and experience.

Opportunities for School Leavers & Young People

We offer various opportunities for school leavers and young individuals who are eager to develop their business skills. Whether you’re interested in roles in our support functions or exploring a career as an accountant, we’d love to hear from you.

To apply to join Martin Aitken & Co, please send us your qualifications, work experience, personal ambitions, and a brief cover letter explaining why you want to work for us and what attracts you to the accountancy profession. Feel free to share more about your career goals and extracurricular activities that drive and motivate you.

Don’t hesitate to showcase your strengths and why you believe you would be an asset to our firm.
