Covid 19 maco1 The Scottish Government and SCVO have published guidance for small businesses and charities on leaving lockdown. There is a short summary below with forward links for more detail.

Leaving lockdown guidance for small businesses

The Scottish Government has published guidance to help micro (less than 10 employees) and small (less than 50 employees) companies to re-open their businesses and premises safely.

This guidance is aimed at those businesses where no sector-specific guidance has been published.

The guidance for small and micro businesses is set out as follows:

  1. Assess the risks to yoursefl, your employees, your suppliers and your customers.
  2. Consulting with your employees before you reopen.
  3. Putting infection and control measures in place.
  4. Ongoing checking and reviewing which should take place after you have re-opened.

The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) has published useful guidance for third sector organisations on the preparations and considerations they will need to make as they prepare to leave lockdown.

The guidance and resources on the SCVO website includes:

Staff and Volunteers – the steps to take and measures to put in place to help to ensure people feel safe and supported as they begin to return to work.

Governance and risk management recommendations for charity trustees, directors and senior managers: trustees and personal liability, running board meetings and agms, insurance cover and guidance on the test and protect scheme.

Making your offices, shops and other premises Covid-19 safe. How to assess and to reopen safely and confidently. 

Delivering your services and support safely - guidance for different types of support and engagement activities charities will provide post lockdown.

Finance, fundraising & trading: reviewing income, fundraising sources, including the emergency support measures and grants offered by the UK and Scottish Government and UK philanthropists.
