Adrienne Airlie

            
Senior Partner - General Practice & Financial Services

Adrienne became Senior Partner in January 2010 and is extremely enthusiastic about guiding, with her fellow partners, the future development of the firm. Within general practice she specialises in business advice, tax, business development and growth strategies particularly aimed at family businesses. She is a board member of the Scottish Family Business Association (SFBA), an ICAS Council member and is Staff Partner within the firm.

One of her specialisms is charities and she has vast experience of working with charities, having assisted OSCR and Scottish Government in the drafting of legislation for charities within Scotland. She is Scottish Convenor of the Association of Charity Independent Examiners (ACIE), a member of the ICAS Charities committee and the ICAS Glasgow Area committee.

Since joining the company in 1995 Adrienne has also been committed to the development of the high standards of Financial Services advice that the firm now delivers through its subsidiary company, Martin Aitken Financial Services (MAFS) Ltd. Adrienne heads up MAFS and is a fully qualified IFA to APFS level.

Adrienne is married to Campbell, a Petroleum engineer and they have 4 children. She doesn’t have a great deal of time to relax but when she can manage it, she attends the gym, goes for a jog or a long walk and likes nothing better than reading a good book.

            

Ewen Dyer

            
Partner - Audit & Accounts

Ewen is a partner with the firm and is involved in general practice covering all aspects of accountancy specialising in tax, trusts, charities and the medical profession. He is also in charge of the firms Internal Administration and our Work in Progress.

Married to Elaine Dyer also a Partner with the firm he therefore always takes his work home with him. He is a keen golfer and enjoys travelling particularly to America with their young daughter.

            

Jayne Clifford

            
Partner - Audit & Accounts

Jayne, a Partner with the company, trained with a big four firm and has been with Martin Aitken & Co since 1993. As an expert in Audit & Accounts her key areas of expertise are family business and general business consultancy.

Being an Audit/Assurance committee member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a committee member of the Audit Practice Board (SME), Jayne keeps the team up to date with the latest technical information.

Despite a busy working life Jayne finds time to raise money for charity through her running.

            

Tricia Haliday

            
Partner - Audit & Accounts

Tricia specialises in Tax both Corporate and Personal. Her career in tax started in 1985 when she was asked to provide assistance with an HMRC enquiry. She thoroughly enjoys working in tax and the daily challenges brought about by the everchanging UK legislation. Tricia has over 20 years worth of experience in advising clients, assisting colleagues and dealing with the Revenue.

Married with two young boys, when not working, she spends most of her spare time at the park and doing various sporting activities with the boys.

            

Russell McGowan

            
Partner - Audit & Accounts

Russell has almost thirty years experience as a general practitioner dealing with a varied portfolio of owner managed businesses. He has a desire to assist clients in easing the ever increasing legislative burden that faces them today and to assist them in expanding and developing their businesses.

Away from the office he has interests in music, sailing, golf and the great outdoors and has occasionally been known to watch a football match.

            

Liam McKenna

            
Partner - Audit & Accounts

Liam joined the firm in June 2010, having been in partnership previously with Russell McGowan and Tricia Halliday. A member of the ICAS Taxation Committee, he is a general practitioner with a special interest in tax investigations. Over the years Liam has assisted many family businesses in appraising or structuring and managing plans for growth, succession and retirement, or business disposal.

Out of hours you would find him on the golf course, watching football, or relaxing with his wife and family.

            

Stephen Neville

Stephen joined MACO in July 2008 as a result of merging the firm of A.S. Fisher & Co. with MACO.

Stephen has wide experience in general practice having been mainly involved with owner managed businesses He has a strong personal commitment of care to his clients with the distinct objective of assisting his clients to progress and grow organically or by acquisition.

He has clients in many industry sectors with a special interest in property companies, dentists, doctors, leisure and entertainment industry. Specialisation also includes merger, de-mergers, acquisitions and reorganisation.

            

Mark Tenby

            
Partner - Audit & Accounts

Mark is a Partner of the firm with a varied portfolio of clients across general practice and has significant involvement with many Charitable Trusts, both professionally and in a voluntary role.

Mark heads up the Tax department, ensures the smooth running of our IT systems and is also our Money Laundering Reporting Officer, an important area of compliance for any CA firm.

He enjoys playing and watching most sports in his spare time, particularly football, but is often found at weekends spending quality time with his wife and three children, doing whatever they tell him to do!

            

Elaine Dyer

            
Partner - Audit & Accounts

As one of the partners Elaine deals with audits and accounts across all sectors within the firm. She is also jointly responsible for technical and training matters within MACo together with Jayne Clifford.

One of Elaine’s areas of expertise is advising property companies, property investors and clients with property portfolios.

When Elaine is not travelling with her husband Ewen & daughter Emily she enjoys sport and is involved in raising money for charity.

            

Jim McInroy

            
Chairman - Audit & Accounts

Jim became managing partner in 1990 with a plan to make the company one of the top 10 accountancy firms in the West of Scotland. Not content with achieving this the company went on to be highlighted as the fastest growing accountancy firm of 2005/6.

His fellow partners recognise that the strong position of Martin Aitken & Co now is very significantly due to Jim’s tireless work for the firm and its clients. 2007 seen Jim step into the role of Chairman and whilst you would think this would allow him more free time to enjoy flying his plane, he has still remained in a hands on position offering his expertise in strategic planning and focusing on business opportunities for Martin Aitken and their clients.
